Lions claim cornerback Pat Lee

The Detroit Lions’ never-ending search for help in the secondary led them to Pat Lee today.

The Lions claimed the veteran cornerback on waivers today, according to Carlos Monarrez of the Detroit Free Press. He takes the place of cornerback Alphonso Smith, who was released to create room.

Lee started seven games for the Oakland Raiders this season before he was cut loose. He’s got good size at 6-foot, 200 pounds. Lee was a second-round pick of the Green Bay Packers in 2008.
