The Detroit Lions cut veteran tight end and fullback Dorin Dickerson and have promoted wide receiver Jeremy Ross to the active roster from the practice squad, the team announced.

Dickerson was auditioned Monday along with tight ends Kyle Adams and Daniel Fells.

Dickerson caught nine passes last season for the Buffalo Bills. He played collegiately at Pitt and is a former Houston Texans seventh-round draft pick.

Ross is a 6-foot, 215-pounder from Cal who has one catch for eight yards with one lost fumble.
