Lions hiring Jim Bob Cooter as quarterbacks coach

The Detroit Lions are hiring Denver Broncos offensive assistant Jim Bob Cooter as quarterbacks coach, according to CBS.

Cooter had a previous year as a quality control coach with the Kansas City Chiefs, three years as an offensive assistant working for Lions coach Jim Caldwell with the Indianapolis Colts.

Cooter, 29, was a walk-on quarterback at Tennessee.

Cooter's hire hasn't been announced by the team yet.
