Lions release Brian Robiskie

In desperate need for wide receiver help last season after multiple injuries had torn apart the group, the Detroit Lions added Brian Robiskie, a former second-round draft pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2009.

Apparently feeling better about their position now, the Lions have released Robiskie before they likely add another player at the position via the draft.

Robiskie appeared in six games for the Lions and scored one touchdown, making four receptions. As Anwar Richardson of points out, it’s a good sign the club feels good about the rehabilitation of veteran Nate Burleson. Ryan Broyles and Mike Thomas will also figure in the mix but it’s a good bet the team looks for some help via the draft.
