Detroit Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew was ruled out for Sundays' game against the New York Giants because of an ankle injury.

Joseph Fauria will start and Dorin Dickerson will fill in behind him. Fauria has seven touchdown catches.

Pettigrew has 41 catches for 416 yards and two touchdowns this season.

Wide receiver Calvin Johnson is questionable and linebacker DeAndrey (Levy) and cornerbacks Rashean Mathis (illness) and Chris Houston (toe0.

Reserve cornerback Darius Slay (torn meniscus) is doubtful.
