The Detroit Lions signed first-round draft choice Eric Ebron to his rookie deal, the organization announced on Friday.
Ebron was a standout tight end at the University of North Carolina and was taken with the 10th overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft. With the Tar Heels, Ebron concluded his college career with 112 catches for 1,805 yards and eight touchdowns.
Ebron figures to be an immediate impact with the Lions' offense, based on the similarities in his game to that of Saints tight end Jimmy Graham. New Lions offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi was last with the Saints and will likely try and introduce similar offensive concepts to this Lions' team.
By signing Ebron, the Lions have now inked all of their 2014 draft picks.
