The Detroit Lions are trimming back their roster before preparing to add players next week in the draft.
The team released veteran safety Kalvin Pearson today. He primarily played a special teams role for them although he started 10 times during the 2008 march to 0-and-16.
On Thursday, the Lions cut ties with veteran guard Daniel Loper. He was the starter at the beginning of last season but that didn’t last long and the team recently made a move inside by trading with Seattle to acquire veteran guard Rob Sims.
