Jake Locker will make his first start of the preseason and first start since his University of Washington days when the Tennessee Titans travel to Tampa Bay to face the Buccaneers Friday night.
Coach Mike Munchak made the announcement after Monday's practice, saying Locker would get the nod over Matt Hasselbeck because it was "his turn." Hasselbeck started the preseason opener, a 27-17 loss at Seattle on Saturday night.
“We'll start Jake on Friday. It gives him an opportunity to start the game from the beginning. Then, Matt will come in and we'll go from there,” Munchak said.
Locker will go about 20 to 25 plays with the first unit as the Titans continue their evaluation process and decide which quarterback will start in the regular season opener Sept. 9 against New England.
