Backup botches two punt snaps in loss to San Diego. Terry McCormick
Long snappers are by nature pretty anonymous players - until you don't have them as the Oakland Raiders round out in Monday night's 22-14 loss to the San Diego Chargers.
Jon Condo, the Raiders normal long snapper, left the game in the first half with a head injury (likely concussion) and backup Travis Goethel endured a wretched night. Goethel rolled two snaps back to punter Shane Lechler, who had one blocked and could not get another kick off.
It wasn't the only issue the Raiders had in the late-night loss, but it certainly was the most glaring one in an area that usually is taken for granted.
