Knee issue did in former Bears' third-rounder Brad Biggs

A fresh start for Marcus Harrison with the Carolina Panthers won’t materialize.

The Panthers claimed him off waivers from the Chicago Bears, but Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer reported via Twitter that Harrison failed his physical.

An NFL source says the Panthers rejected Harrison because of a knee issue. He failed his physical and missed the first five practices in training camp with the Bears because he was out of shape. Harrison, a third-round pick in 2008, now has to wonder where he will land. The Cleveland Browns also placed a claim for Harrison.

Harrison had knee issues when he came out of school at Arkansas. Just because he failed the Panthers’ physical doesn’t mean there isn’t a team out there that will not pass him. Harrison could consider pursuing the Bears for cutting him while he was injured, but he didn’t miss much in the way of practice once he got into shape.
