Seattle Seahawks star running back Marshawn Lynch was fined $50,000 by the NFL for not talking to reporters all season before finally breaking his silence Friday, according to ESPN.
The NFL requires contractually that players cooperate with the media. It's also standard language in most NFL players' contracts.
Lynch, who rushed for 1,257 yards and a dozen touchdowns, had little to say Friday.
Lynch talked for under two minutes, answering nine questions on Friday.
His first answer might have been his most insightful.
When asked how he felt to rush for 1,000 yards for the third consecutive year, Lynch replied with one word: “Smooth.”
Asked how he’s feeling after a season in which he broke the 1,000-yard barrier for the third straight year with 1,257, Lynch responded simply: “Smooth.’’
