Running back could return in time for AFC Championship Game. Terry McCormick
The Denver Broncos definitely have their sights set on a deep playoff run, as evidenced by their move to place running back Willis McGahee on injured reserve with recall on Wednesday.
According to the Denver Post, McGahee, who suffered a torn MCL in Sunday's win over San Diego, will be eligible to return in time for the AFC Championship Game, if the Broncos make it that far in the postseason.
McGahee's injury will keep him out for 6-8 weeks, and the roster move ensures he will be out for eight weeks of time. Runngin back Jeremiah Johnson, currently on Denver's practice squad, is a likely option join the Broncos' 53-man roster.
