McNabb: 'Peyton's not gonna go' to the Redskins

With the Super Bowl in Indianapolis it only increased the focus on Peyton Manning’s situation with the Colts.

With the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis it only increased the focus on Manning’s situation with the Colts.

Speculation is rampant where the quarterback will wind up – provided he is healthy enough to continue playing. Some believe he’s definitely ticketed for Miami. Just about every other team without an established quarterback has been mentioned as a possibility. That list includes the Washington Redskins.

But there’s one former Redskins quarterback that doesn’t see it happening in Washington.

Peyton’s not gonna go there,” Donovan McNabb said on John Thompson’s radio show on ESPN 980, according to Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post. “I don’t see Peyton ending up in Washington. Because what happens is now, you’re bringing in another veteran who will be 35 36, who has been in one offense throughout his career. It’s the same situation.

“Now he comes over, and as they say now, Peyton is such an offensive coordinator on the offense. So now what does that do to your offensive coordinator? Does he step down? Does he step back? Does he begin to change the whole offense according to the play of the quarterback that he has in Peyton Manning? Well, I didn’t see that happen, so I definitely don’t see that happening for Peyton.”

Perhaps McNabb doesn’t see it happening in Washington for Manning because it didn’t go so well for him there. Who knows? Each day we get a little closer to the Colts and Manning needing to reach a decision on his future.
