The San Diego Chargers announced that they have activated outside linebacker Melvin Ingram to the 53-man roster, the team announced on Saturday.

Ingram tore his anterior cruciate ligament in May and was placed on San Diego's reserve-physically unable to perform list. He returned to practice on Nov. 19 and had until Dec. 10 to be activated to the roster.

Ingram was selected with the 18th overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft. To make room for Ingram on the official roster, the Chargers released linebacker Adrian Robinson.

The Chargers also announced that cornerback Johnny Patrick has been added to the injury report for Sunday's game with an ankle injury.
