Steelers RB might have a chance to play in opener vs. Broncos. Terry McCormick
Rashard Mendenhall continues to surprise as he makes his way back from a January knee injury.
According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, practiced on Wednesday for the Steelers and shed the protective knee brace he had been wearing since coming back.
As Bouchette noted, when it gets to game week, teams don't usually waste a lot of practice reps on players who aren't going to play on Sunday. So it appears that with Mendenhall improving, he does have a chance to play in the opener against the Denver Broncos.
