The Oakland Raiders cut quarterback JaMarcus Russell earlier today.
Now, they have announced the addition of veteran running back Michael Bennett.
Bennett had tried out for the Raiders at their minicamp last week.
Bennett has previous stints with the San Diego Chargers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Kansas City Chiefs and the Minnesota Vikings.
Bennett rushed for 65 yards on 23 carries last season for the Chargers, catching six passes for 65 yards.
Bennett, 31, rushed for 1,296 yards back in 2002 for the Vikings, his lone 1,000-yard season.
For his career, he has rushed for 3,692 yards and 13 touchdowns with 157 receptions for 1,285 yards and six touchdowns.
Bennett played collegiately at Wisconsin.
