The St. Louis Rams haven't cut rookie defensive end Michael Sam, at least not yet.

The Rams cut 17 players on Friday.

That includes quarterback Garrett Gilbert and offensive tackle Mitchell Van Dyk

Sam had six tackles against the Miami Dolphins.

Sam is competing with fellow rookie Ethan Westbrooks.

"You know what, it's not going to be like the draft," Sam said. "I'm very confident that I'm going to sleep really well tonight, and I'm very confident I'm going to be on a team, the Rams or any other team in the NFL."
