Quarterback's travel is reportedly restricted by probation officials Aaron Wilson
Not allowed to travel out of the state of Pennsylvania by probation officers, Philadelphia Eagles backup quarterback Michael Vick was a notable absence at his celebrity golf tournament today.
Vick's travel has been restricted in the wake of the Quanis Phillips shooting at the NFL player's 30th birthday party.
Although Vick wasn't characterized as a suspect in the shooting, a prosecutor said that the quarterback was involved in a confrontation shortly before the shooting.
Vick has missed several events as a result, including football camps, which has left some hard feelings from organizers.
"They called early, like 2 o'clock in the morning, telling us he's not coming," Camp Elite Sports director Cornelius Corprew told the Associated Press. "And then we couldn't speak to him. It was through one of his associates.
"We're not crazy. No state agency is communicating at 2 o'clock in the morning that he's not allowed to come. I think that was a selfish act."
Per the report, Corprew said Vick was paid half of a $4,000 appearance fee.
Campers paid $175 apiece and were promised photos and autographs with the controversial NFL star.
"I'm upset because our camp is built on integrity and character and that's what we teach to our kids," Corprew said.
Former Vick teammate Terance Mathis stuck up for him.
"He's still doing a great thing, trying to raise money for charities and help the community," Mathis said. "It's an unfortunate thing that happened, and when that happens, law enforcement does what they have to do. But it doesn't change how I feel about the guy and what he's trying to accomplish."
Although the Eagles have said they stand behind Vick and aren't thinking about cutting him, this wave of bad publicity and what Vick mentor Tony Dungy called bad judgment is beginning to pile up around Vick.

You know, I was saddened when Ron Mexico went to the big house. But I see that it still didn't teach this dude a lesson. Once a knucklehead, always a knucklehead. I wish him well when he moved into that cardboard box under the freeway
LOL RaiderFan, maybe he and JaFailure can get a double wide box so they can commiserate about how their failed careers were everyone else's fault.
BearMarket--your are right on. Why invite this guy. How about inviting a member of the armed forces instead?
Sterling sliver jewelry, particularly bracelets, is a staple of fashionable women everywhere. This type of pandora beads is durable yet so beautiful. The versatility is outstanding; it goes with every outfit whether with jeans or with a designer gown. For instance, movie star Sandra Bullock wore a silver cuff bracelet to the 2009 MTV Movie Awards in May 2009. A silver cuff bracelet makes an audacious statement, yet it is lightweight and is flexible so that it can fit a variety of wrist sizes. Another popular type of bracelets is the silver charm bracelet. There are many shapes and designs for the charms that are attached to the bracelet.

"I'm upset because our camp is built on integrity and character and that's what we teach to our kids," Corprew said.
If that's true the question is begged: why did you invite Vick? This guy is toxic.
