The Philadelphia Eagles have named their starting quarterback, going with veteran Michael Vick over Nick Foles, coach Chip Kelly announced today.
Vick appears well-suited to Kelly's high-octane style.
Foles is a classic pocket passer who lacks Vick's mobility.
Both quarterbacks have strong arms, but Vick holds an edge in experience and has played well through two preseason games.
This appears to be a solid choice by Kelly, who can lean on Vick and hope that he doesn't fall back into his high-risk, high-reward ways when the regular season begins since Foles is waiting in the wings.
