Michael Vick will stick with Eagles in 2013

Michael Vick will be with the Philadelphia Eagles for the 2013 season.

Vick was due to earn $15 million this season but he has restructured his contract to a three-year deal that essentially becomes a one-year contract, according to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

There had been speculation Vick would be bounced by the Eagles after a couple of injury-riddled seasons, but his athletic ability makes him a fit for the new offense under Chip Kelly, and he will be in position to win the starting job.

Per the report, the final two years of the contract will void on March 15, three days after the new league year begins. Nick Foles, who was a rookie this past season, could also figure into the mix. Kelly hasn’t been very revealing yet on what he plans his offense to look like.

It’s not known what the terms of Vick’s new deal are.
