Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano confirmed that running back Mike James will miss the remainder of the regular season due to a broken ankle.

James suffered the injury in Monday night's win over Miami. It was Tampa Bay's first win of the season.

The Buccaneers are now without their top two running backs they opened their season with. Doug Martin was recently placed on injured reserve due to a shoulder injury.

It will likely be a committee approach for replacing James. After he went down Monday night, Brian Leonhard and Bobby Rainey split carries throughout the remainder of the game.

Leonhard received 20 carries and recorded 57 yards. Rainey ran the ball eight times for 45 yards and a touchdown, which came on a 31-yard rush.

Before his injury, James had five carries for 45 yards.
