Mike Wallace may return kicks

Mike Wallace is electric with the ball in his hands.

When he was with the Steelers, the speedy receiver was a deep threat that gave secondaries plenty of headaches. Expected to do the same with the Dolphins, Wallace ended up with just 930 yards and five touchdowns, the latter the least amount of scores he's posted in a single season.

If the Dolphins are unable to get Wallace the ball on a consistent basis like a year ago, then they may have to think of other ways to get him the ball. One way is apparently allowing Wallace to return kicks.

“I might get back there for kickoff returns,” Wallace told Sky Sports. “I just want to be on the field making an impact for my team. I’ve always wanted to return kicks ever since I’ve been in the NFL."

Wallace told the British news group that he wanted to return kicks in Pittsburgh but the coaching staff wouldn't allow him to do that during the regular season. He was able to return kicks in preseason games for the Steelers.

It would be risky to allow Wallace to return kicks, seeing that it would increase his chance of injury on the field. Then again, any player can be injured at any time of a game.

It seems Wallace wants to return kicks. The Dolphins may not be as keen on that idea.
