Now, Mikel Leshoure will have to see how he fares with the wheels of justice in the NFL.
The Detroit Lions running back pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana this morning, according to the Detroit Free Press.
Leshoure entered his plea in Berrian County (Mich.) District Court and was fined $575. In a year, he will be required to provide proof of compliance with a treatment program run by the NFL.
Leshoure had been facing a felony charge of marijuana possession as he was busted twice in two months earlier this offseason. In the most recent instance, police say Leshoure was attempting to eat the marijuana when the vehicle he was riding in was pulled over in an effort to destroy the evidence.
For now, Leshoure will be drug tested two to three times per week, according to the report, putting him in a situation where he will have to remain clean to avoid trouble.
