Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Linval Joseph was shot at a downtown nightclub, struck by a stray bullet in the calf and has been treated at a hospital and released after suffering a minor injury, according to the team.
The Vikings said that Joseph is expected to rejoin the team this week. They described Joseph as an innocent bystander.
"The entire Vikings organization is extremely thankful that Linval was not seriously hurt, and our thoughts are with all of the victims of this shooting," the Vikings said in a statement. "The team will defer any further comment to the Minneapolis Police Department during its ongoing investigation."
