Super Bowl LII was awarded to Minnesota, continuing the tradition of the NFL awarding Super Bowls to cities that build new stadiums.

Minneapolis will host the Super Bowl in a new $1 billion stadium that's being constructed ahead of the 2018 Super Bowl.

Minneapolis beat out New Orleans and Indianapolis with this marking the first time New Orleans has ever lost a Super Bowl bid.

Minneapolis last hosted a Super Bowl in 1992 at the Metrodome, which is no longer standing.

Minneapolis has a dome, so the game won't be played outdoors.
