A judge in Riverside County, Calif., granted a temporary restraining order against former Detroit Lions wide receiver Titus Young after his ex-girlfriend said he threatened her last week.

The Riverside Press Enterprise reports that Young has been ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from the ex-girlfriend, who is also the mother of his 8-month-old son. A hearing is scheduled for May 29.

The restraining order paints a chilling picture.

“He would say things like, ‘I understand why O.J. killed his wife.’ He says, ‘We’re always gonna be a family and I’m always going to be his,’” according to the report. “He got mad and yelled at my neighbors and tried to fight multiple people that he doesn’t even know.”

“Titus Young has been clinically diagnosed with a mental disorder and I am afraid of what he is capable of doing,” the woman wrote in her request for a restraining order. “He also has been in a mental help facility more than once and still believes that he does not have a problem.”

Young has been arrested three times recently for unrelated incidents and faces a slew of felony charges.
