Last week, Mel Tucker interviewed to be the Jacksonville Jaguars head coach, a job he held on an interim basis for the final three games of the season.

Today, Tucker will meet with the Mike Mularkey, the man who will coach the Jaguars, about staying on as the team's defensive coordinator, the title he had before being elevated to interim coach when Jack Del Rio was fired.

"I’m going to talk to him tonight to have him come in tomorrow," Mularkey told the Florida Times-Union. "I don’t know if you want to call it an interview or just talk to him. I want to really just have a chance to sit down and talk to him. I’ve spoken to him already, prior to this going down. We really have a pretty good relationship, so hopefully it works out.”

Mularkey would be smart to keep Tucker around if he can. Tucker did a good job keeping a Jacksonville defense that was ravaged by injuries very competitive and near the top of the league in a number of statistical categories this year.
