Patrick Mularkey goes from scout to strength coach in Jacksonville. Terry McCormick
New Jacksonville Jaguars coach Mike Mularkey didn't have to look far to find who he wanted as an additional assistant strength and conditioning coach, moving his son Patrick into the role, says the Florida Times-Union.
Patrick Mularkey had already been on the Jaguars payroll the past two years, working in the team's personnel department. He does have a strength and conditioning background, however, having interned in that area with the Atlanta Falcons in 2008.
The younger Mularkey will be third in the pecking order in the weightroom, as he will work for new strength and conditioning coach Tom Myslinski and assistant strength and conditioning coach John Hingst.

Why does every NFL coach have hire the whole family now?
Marty Schottenheimer, who used to bring his brother from job to job, had his son with him and wanted him with in Tampa. There is Shanahan and Son screwing it up in DC, Lovie Smith has his son fumbling around the Chicago secondary and there has to be a bunch others...
Even the the ex Colt GM was going it...and that's not to mention Jerry and Son destroying Dallas for a decades.
And don't forget the Shula Show which seemed to employ son in laws, sons, uncles, and second cousins.

Nepotism at its finest. How does one internship trump other candidates who have a bachelor's and masters in exercise science? You get what you deserve.
