N. Colorado sleeper quarterback Seth Lobato on Patriots' radar, worked out for Dolphins

Northern Colorado quarterback Seth Lobato is emerging as a late-round sleeper or priority free agent.

He talked extensively with the New England Patriots during his campus Pro Day workout that was attended by several NFL teams and has also worked out for the Miami Dolphins, according to a league source.

This weekend, two NFC West quarterbacks coaches reached out to Lobato as well as an offensive coordinator.

The strong-armed 6-foot-6, 229-pounder was a three-year starter and an All-Big Sky Conference honorable-mention selection. A former basketball player. Lobato is a pocket passer who threw for 2,725 yards last season with 16 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

He completed 56.8 percent of his throws.

Lobato still needs more polich and accuracy, but is regarded as a quarterback with upside.

As a junior, he passed for 2,797 yards, 19 touchdowns and rushed for three touchdowns. He completed a career-high 58.3 percent of his throws.

As a sophomore, he threw for 2,448 yards and 17 touchdowns.
