Class of 2014 quarterback Jalan McClendon, who had offers from notable ACC programs such as Florida State, Miami (FL) and North Carolina, committed to North Carolina State on Wednesday night.
The 6-4, 195-pound pocket passer from West Mecklenburg High School (Charlotte, N.C.), who was in Raleigh over the weekend, began to ascend up the recruiting rankings this spring because he is considered to have a high ceiling. He has a strong arm to go along with good size and athleticism.
McClendon is first-year head coach Dave Doeren's fifth commitment in the 2014 class and the fourth out of the state of North Carolina.
The Wolfpack hope the future will be bright on offense with Class of 2014 wide receiver Bo Hines joining McClendon next year.
