For those of you scoring at home, check off another SEC school potentially in hot water, as Georgia reportedly received a call this afternoon from the NCAA requesting permission to send investigators to conduct an inquiry in Athens.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the NCAA told the school to release no further information to the media other than acknowledging that an inquiry was made.
In the last week, four other schools have been the subject of NCAA inquiry: North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida and Alabama. All four investigations center on the relationships players may have had with agents and their associates.
It’s just speculation at this point, but it looks as if Georgia could become the fifth program to be involved in the widespread investigation focusing on the party in Miami Beach on Memorial Day weekend that prompted the inquiries at North Carolina and South Carolina and an internal investigation at Alabama.
