The lockout has officially resumed following the league being granted a temporary stay from the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello announced that teams "have been told that the prior lockout rules are reinstated."

The NFL's request to overturn the injunction ending the lockout could begin next week.

"Nobody's happy about any of this," Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson said. "But it is what it is. The lockout is back into effect."

"Routine grant of stay and totally expected," NFL Players Association outside counsel Jim Quinn said "The only surprise is that Judge Bye is so strongly against giving them even a tiny stay because the league obviously can't show it is necessary."
