NFLPA to examine Smith, Roc Nation situation

Investigation centers on whether Jay-Z illegally recruited Jets QB. Terry McCormick

New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith's alignment with Roc Nation, the company formed by entertainer Jay-Z, is under scrutiny from the NFL Players Association, according to NFL.com.

A letter was sent to Kim Miale, who is the certified contract advisor for Roc Nation Sports, giving notification of the investigation.

Apparently at the crux of the matter is whether Jay-Z actively recruited Smith to join Roc Nation. Under NFLPA guidelines, the rapper would not be allowed to recruit any player because he is not a certified agent.
