The Houston Texans have agreed to terms with veteran kicker Neil Rackers on a two-year, $4.1 million contract, according to ESPN.
Per the report, Rackers received $350,000 in guaranteed money. So, it's essentially a prove-it deal.
Rackers was supposed to visit the New York Jets on Tuesday. With the Jets, he would have competed with Nick Folk.
However, the Texans convinced him to join their organization.
He'll compete with incumbent Kris Brown for the job.
Rackers was previously with the Arizona Cardinals and the Cincinnati Bengals.
He was in talks with the Cardinals when they decided to sign former Jets kicker Jay Feely.
Rackers connected on 16 of 17 field goals last season, a 94.1 percentage.
For his career, he has hit 205 of 262 field goal tries.
With Rackers joining the Texans, that leaves former Cincinnati Bengals kicker Shayne Graham as the top kicker on the free agent market.
The Baltimore Ravens met with Graham and his agent at the NFL owners meetings, a discussion that included owner Steve Bisciotti, general manager Ozzie Newsome and coach John Harbaugh.
