New York Giants linebacker Jon Beason won't require surgery to repair a torn ligament and fracture in his right foot suffered last weke.
Beason was examined by specialist Dr. Robert Anderson in Charlotte, N.C.
“My visit with Dr. Anderson went as well as it could have yesterday,” Beason said. “I’m happy that it was determined that I will be able to recover without surgery. My plan is to work as hard as I can during my rehab so I can be fully recovered around the start of the regular season opener on Monday night in Detroit.”
Beason's magnetic resonance imaging exam, X-rays and CT scan were examined by Dr. Anderson.
He'll be in a cast and walking boot for the next six weeks.
