There are no plans at this time for the Green Bay Packers to retire Brett Favre's jersey.
The Packers want to eventually do so, but Favre and the team is wary of the reception he might get at Lambeau Field.
"That is an issue," Murphy said. "He doesn't want it, and neither do we. He wouldn't want to come back and get booed. You can't control 80,750 people. I really think as time goes on, every year that passes, it's less likely that he would get booed, but that is an issue."
Favre might appear at Lambeau Field this year, but the three-time Most Valuable Player won't have his jersey retired this season.
At some point, though, the Packers plan to retire Favre's jersey.
Favre leaving the Packers to play for the New York Jets and the Minnesota Vikings and his controversial depature from the organization caused the bad blood between the legendary quarterback and the NFL North franchise.
