Notre Dame added another four-star recruit to its Class of 2014 on Wednesday, as offensive lineman Quenton Nelson gave a verbal commitment to the program.
The 6-5, 298-pounder from Red Bank Catholic High (Red Bank, N.J.) announced his decision on Twitter.
Nelson, who is an offensive guard, is the fourth four-star recruit for the Irish in the Class of 2014, according to Rivals.com's rankings. Notre Dame also recently received a commitment from five-star running back Elijah Hood.
The New Jersey native, who is considered one of the better offensive guards nationally, is the ninth member of ND's 2014 class.
Notre Dame has continued to make building offensive line depth a priority this cycle, as Nelson is the fourth offensive lineman in this haul and would be the ninth O-Line commitment in the past two cycles. The Irish also have commitments in this cycle from Maryland offensive guard Sam Mustipher, New York offensive tackle Jay Hayes and Ohio offensive tackle Jimmy Byrne.
