Notre Dame received commitment No. 14 for its Class of 2013 on Thursday morning when defensive end Isaac Rochell gave his verbal pledge to Brian Kelly and Co.
The 6-4, 250-pounder from Eagles Landing Christian Academy (McDonough, GA) picked Notre Dame over Florida State and a host of other major powers, including Florida, Alabama, Arkansas and Oklahoma. The talented four-star defensive lineman will be yet another intriguing piece for coordinator Bob Diaco's unit.
As a junior in 2011, Rochell recorded 97 tackles and seven sacks.
Rochell could be the ideal fit for the five-technique end position in Notre Dame's 3-4 defense because he has good athleticism for his size. If he adds weight to his frame he could become more adept against the run while also being able to rush the passer as well.
