The Cincinnati Bengals announced Sunday that they have reached a deal to retain kicker Mike Nugent.
Nugent's contract was set to expire on Monday, making him a free agent.
In 2011, Nugent set Bengals records for points (132) and field goals (33) in a season. In 2012, his 55-yard field goal on Nov. 25 vs. Oakland tied a Bengals record.
Nugent missed the last four games of last season, plus the playoffs due to a calf injury suffered on Dec. 5.
