Report says Patriots receiver will go back to being Chad Johnson. Terry McCormick
Chad Ochocinco is soon to be no more, as TMZ reports the New England Patriots wide receiver will change back to his given name of Chad Johnson soon.
Ochocinco, according to the report, wants to change his surname back to Johnson in time for his wedding in July to Evelyn Lozada, because he doesn't want his bride to have a made-up last name.
The receiver legally changed his name to Ochocinco, which is Spanish for "eight five," the digits on his 85 jersey, in part because the league would not let him put the "Ochocinco" nickname on the nameplate of his jersey. He was still with the Cincinnati Bengals at the time of the original name change.
