Receiver gets back his given name in Florida court. Terry McCormick
Chad Johnson is back, and Chad Ochocinco is officially retired.
The flamboyant and sometimes controversial wide receiver went into a Broward County Fla, court room on Monday and officially had his name changed back to Chad Johnson, says NFL.com.
The Miami Dolphins receiver had officially changed his surname to Ochocinco in 2008 so it would force the NFL to allow him to have his nickname (which is Spanish for "Eight, Five") on the nameplate of his jersey. He was with the Cincinnati Bengals at the time.
