One thing that was apparent at Mississippi’s pro day was that the south is alive and well when it comes to producing future NFL talent.

22 prospects worked out in Oxford on Tuesday for representatives from all 32 NFL teams, according to Gil Brandt of NFL.com.

One of the most notable names in the group was RB/WR Dexter McCluster, who improved his 4.56 40-time from the combine by running 4.44 and 4.45.

Ole Miss went 9-4 in 2009, ending the season with a 21-7 win over Oklahoma State in the AT&T Cotton Bowl.

Here are some of the notable performances from Tuesday’s workout:

Defensive End Greg Hardy (6-4, 277) ran a 4.8 and 4.79 40-yard-dash, 4.64 short shuttle and 7.13 three-cone drill. Hardy also recorded a 35.0 vertical jump and 10-0 broad jump.

Quarterback Jevan Snead (6-3, 223) only took part in passing drills and opted to stay on his results from the combine (5.04 40-yard-dash).

Offensive tackle John Jerry (6-5, 335) participated in positional drills and put up 31 reps on the bench. Jerry didn’t bench at last month’s combine.
