The defensive tackle worked out for NFL personnel in State College on Wednesday. Joe Fortenbaugh
In addition to SEC powerhouses Florida and Tennessee (well, maybe not so much Tennessee anymore), Penn State held its annual pro day on Wednesday morning.
While we’re still in the process of obtaining all of the results from yesterday’s workout, we did have the opportunity to speak with defensive tackle Jared Odrick—the highest rated prospect from Penn State—Thursday morning to ask him about his performance.
Odrick (6-5, 300) weighed in four pounds lighter on Wednesday than he did at the combine in Indianapolis last month. He stayed on his results from the combine in the bench press and three-cone drill, while posting a vertical jump of 30.0 and broad jump of 9-2.
In addition, the 2009 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year told us he lowered his 40 time to an impressive 4.89 seconds—down from the high 4.9 to low 5.0 range he ran at the combine.
Odrick also posted a short shuttle time of 4.44 seconds.

Notice a pattern? *Every* player that ran at the combine "miraculously" improves his 40 time by almost exactly 0.1 seconds at his pro day.

Any idea what his first 10 yard split time was?
