Domestic issue at Thanksgiving catches up with him Brad Biggs
Erik Walden will be suspended for one game for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy.
Tyler Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports the league has come down on Walden for the dispute he had at Thanksgiving with his live-in girlfriend. He eventually pleaded no contest to misdemeanor disorderly conduct – domestic abuse.
First, Walden has to make the Packers’ roster for him to be suspended for Green Bay’s first game. He signed a $725,000, one-year contract with no guaranteed money. Walden was replaced by Brad Jones during the playoffs and now there is a mix of players in the hunt, including undrafted rookie free agent Dezman Moss and Vic So’oto.
Basically, Walden is going to have to prove he’s too valuable for the Packers to cut him loose.
