Green Bay Packers linebacker Erik Walden can have a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct-domestic abuse dropped if he completes a plan set in place for him in court on Friday.
According to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Walden must complete 50 hours of community service and continues a counseling program he entered, the charge will be dropped in Brown County Court.
Walden’s trial was set to begin next week, stemming from a Nov. 25 arrest following an altercation with his live-in girlfriend. But he pleaded no contest on Friday and was given a deferred judgment that requires him to finish his community service obligation and stay out of trouble for the next year.
Walden is set to be an unrestricted free agent, and now he can move forward while also putting this incident in his past.
