Packers linebacker Erik Walden remains in jail over the weekend and will be there until Monday, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette, after being arrested for allegedly assaulting his live-in girlfriend Friday.
Walden was arrested in Lawrence, a small town near Green Bay, and is in jail waiting for the Brown County Circuit Court to re-open Monday. According to the report, the woman required medical attention. Before she called police, she was treated for a cut and bump on her head at a hospital in Green Bay.
Walden is the second Packers player to be accused of domestic violence this year. Cornerback Brandon Underwood pleaded no contest in September to disorderly conduct after an incident with his estranged wife following the team’s Super Bowl ring presentation ceremony. Underwood was released in final cutdowns.
