Injury to James Starks prompts move Brad Biggs
Ryan Grant turns 30 on Sunday and he would likely term the opportunity he’s getting with the Green Bay Packers today an early birthday present.
The Packers will re-sign the veteran running back this morning, according to Jason Wilde of ESPN Milwaukee, a move likely made to shore of a backfield in pieces with James Starks now dealing with a possibly season-ending knee injury.
Grant was with the Washington Redskins earlier this season but appeared in only one game, getting just one carry. He chose to sign with the Redskins over an offer from the Chicago Bears. Grant is familiar with the Packers offense and might add his greatest value in passing protections as he knows the scheme and calls to protect quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Grant appeared in 15 games for the Packers last season. He rushed for 559 yards and two touchdowns.
