Packers want to lock up Ted Thompson to new deal
The Green Bay Packers want to lock up general manager Ted Thompson to a long-term contract.
"It's a top priority," team president Mark Murphy said. "I think Ted's been instrumental obviously in the run we've had. So that is a real priority."
Thompson, 61, has said he has no plans to retire at this time.
Murphy said Thompson has communicated that desire to him as well.
The Packers are in good shape financially.
"It was again another strong financial year," Murphy said. "I think continued strong performance by the team on the field and obviously the fan support has been very helpful. That projected or propelled us to another all-time high in terms of revenue."
