In what is probably the best news of this NFL season, Indianapolis Colts coach Chuck Pagano on Thursday was cleared to return to coaching.
Pagano, diagnosed with leukemia in September, has completed his treatment and is expected to be back coaching and running the Colts on Monday.
"Medically, he’s 99 percent recovered,” said Dr. Larry Cripe, Pagano’s physician at IU Health Simon Cancer Center told the Indianapolis Star. “I have placed him on no restrictions.”
In Pagano's absence, offensive coordinator Bruce Arians has served as interim coach, but says he is ready to return to his OC role.
The Colts can clinch a playoff spot even before Pagano is back at the helm, if they win against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
