The Carolina Panthers have spent the bulk of their offseason bidding goodbye to big-ticket veterans in free agency or by other means.
This morning they made a modest addition by re-signing veteran offensive lineman Rob Pettiti, according to the Twitter account of veteran agent Ralph Cindrich, who is carving out a small niche for himself as a newsmaker on the social media Web site. Pettiti finished 2009 on Carolina’s roster after a run in the UFL with the Florida Tuskers.
Pettiti has significant NFL experience. He started 16 games as a rookie for the Dallas Cowboys in 2005. He’s considered a backup at this point, but will provide depth for the Panthers.

If I'm the Lions and I land Hargrove, I end up drafting Suh, starting Hargrove and using Corey Williams to rotate in and out as needed as their No. 3 tackle. He's always done best when he's not an every-down player.
